Plaid Glyndwr? & S.O.S. Save Our Sovereignty Campaign.

.
Save Our Sovereignty
.
Before resigning/retiring from Embassy Glyndwr I had proposed promotion of a PLAID GLYNDWR as a Welsh National Sovereignty Party, the Embassy gave it some coverage but otherwise the idea was not supported that well, sadly the Embassy backed away. I have not the time to pro-activelly take such idea much further although I shall continue to promote and prompt an S.O.S. = SAVE OUR SOVEREIGNTY Campaign. However, this will be a pretty passive Prompt & Promotion via the occasional posts on the subject in this blog in due course as & when I get inspired to do so? In main I guess I shall be suggesting that sooner or later, perhaps post Referendum on more powers for the Assembly, we may have to consider the establishment of a New Nationalist Party. I would agree that such a New Nationalist Party cannot be an ''Instant Fix'' or another ''Knee Jerk Response'' but would have to carefully consider where the Welsh Independence Party went wrong and why it failed? Certainly any New Nationalist Party would I believe have to first and fortemost develope a New Nationalism to replace the Old and Alternative Nationalism which has failed over the passed half century, but such New Nationalism should not ignore our Nations history, not least those few years where we truelly achieved a National Sovereignty secured in the establishment of a Welsh Parliament - Senedd Glyndwr - Senedd Cenedl Cymru Rydd on and about 21 Mehefin 1404. A day which in 2004 Embassy Glyndwr declared as 'Dydd y Senedd' - Parliament Day, worthy of commemorating nationally and locally with Political Action as part of the proposed S.O.S. Campaign.
.
As for the Poster design below consider it a souvenir regards, what might have been, if only a few more Patriots had hindsight, foresight & VISION! Whatever, read on:
.
.
Well 2007 was the year of the Plaid Pact with Labour and that Coalition produced a Convention aka yet another talking shop to buy off Welsh Nationalism with Distraction and Diversion. All leading to a Referendum on more powers for the Welsh Assembly but what does that mean, simply more powers to more efficiently and effectivelly manage English Imperialism and Neo - Colonialism in Wales, for that is what Devolution is all about really. However, sadly so many Nationalists actually think it's got something to do with a Struggle for Sovereignty and Independence, they really kid themselves and actually believe that the Assembly is a Senedd. How can so many patriots be suckered into this sad sillyness? possibly because Plaid has become a Party of Defeatists led by the Disillusioned or Dillettantes. Most interesting development from all this Devolution Dancing between Plaid and Labour is that scores of true Welsh Nationalists are deserting PLAID, particularly in Gwynedd with the establishment of a Llais y Pobl Gwynedd to fight the May elections there with chief purpose to unseat the ''Vichyist'' Collaborators with the PLAID ''Convention Coalitionists'' of Devolution down at the Sham Senedd = Assembly of Appeasement down in Bae Caerdydd.
.

.
Thus 2008 could be a very interesting year, quite possibly we could see Plaid begin to disintegrate, if this is so what hope is there for the future? I am thinking here of the possibility we might see PLAID witnessing more desertions, what then for genuine Nationalists? Consider, might a declining Welsh Liberal Party witness it's members moving towards a Welsh Democrartic Left Labour Platform whilst others move to join with the centre ground Welsh Conservitives in a Popularist Progressive Party. Would the Plaid Left move towards a Welsh Democratic Left Party, if such was suggested? and just how many ''Green Tories'' are in the ranks of Rural Plaid who might move towards a new Tory/Liberal Coalition, possibly Centre Party? Mean while, if Llais y Pobl Gwynedd succeeds in the May Elections will such encourage a more Political Llais y Bobl Ceredigion/Dehuebarth, would this lead to a PLAID PURA WALLIAE in the ancient lands of 'Tiroedd Cunedda' and his sons? are such things Impossible? I think such are, but what then Whither Plaid? will it be fin! Maybe for the best, so Plaidwyr who remain Nationalists to the core but over and over again have to denie such due to misplaced loyalty. As we have seen during 2007 Plaidwyr foolishly voted for the Plaid Pact with Labour and worse renegade act of all, vote for ''Entryism'' to the English House of Lords. If PLAID packed in, all better possibly opportunity for a New Nationalist Party to arise as we propose a PLAID GLYNDWR - Welsh National Soveriegnty Party?

.
.
..All these matters are worth thinking about, discussing and debating over the months ahead in particular during course of campaigning in the May elections. To summarise as to the Patriotic Priorities for your consideration are: The Need to ensure that in any referendum there are three questions; one on more powers to the Assembly, also a question, do we want a Parliament as in Scotland and not least a third question regards Welsh Independence. But who will campaign for such questions to be included in a Referendum? There are numerous Pro - Independence Blogs but all are in main more Talking Shops than Pro-activelly campaigning, same Alan Jobbins Parliament for Wales Campaign which has kept that idea in mind but again is too inactive. Others have called for more radical active campaigning on the street and not in collaboration with the so called Convention but all the more to possibly influence it. Whatever, anything would be better then just muttering of the ''closeted'' Blogwyr Gwladgarol, so this matter of more action and less chatter needs patriotic attention for sure, yes! We feel that such would best be taken care of by a campaigning platform that considers all this and campaigns for all questions to be advanced, placed and persued in any referendum. Such Campaign be one that rallies and runs under the call of S.O.S. = SAVE OUR SOVERIEGNTY, and the best time and place to do this is, on 'Dydd y Senedd' - 21 Mehefin around Cofeb Glyndwr at Y Plas, Machynlleth in the annual Great National Debate, in our own Patriotic Convention Cenedl Glyndwr - Cenedl Cymru Rydd (inaugurated on 21 June 2004), this year as in other years under the heading per usual WHITHER WELSH INDEPENDENCE?
.
Hopefully such D&D on 21 Mehefin at Machynlleth could also consider holding an Independence Rally at Corwen on or around 16 Medi - 'Dydd Glyndwr' as an annual great National pro-Independence event, possibly held in Corwen Pavillion, much underused politically and ideal for Political Platform Presentations as the case for Independence so eloquetly put forward by a number of patriot writters in a number of Pro-Independence blogs, who should be invited to speak at such an annual pro - Independence national gathering

Picture: Cofeb Glyndwr, Y Plas, Machynlleth. Placed to commemorate the 2000 - 6ooth Anniversary of the 16 Medi 1400 rising, I thought at time this might have been better placed near Llys Glyndyfrdwy, Corwen or even Ruthin. In 2000 Ruthin got a small plaque and we had to wait until 2007 to see a Glyndwr statue in Corwen. However, lets be thankful we get anything at all and certainly in case of Cofeb Glyndwr above it needs to not only get some status behind it as Cofeb Cilmeri but also a patriotic purpose for it. Thus our annual promotion of a Great National Debate around it, this ''Rock of Machynlleth'' as perhaps ap Sion's ''Athenian Democracy'' in mind? though those who do assemble there annually in D&D at least elect a Chairman to keep some order to the days proceedings, Further, due to fact that Celtica has closed down which would have attracted people interested in our History to Y Plas, now that centre is to be used for arts etc, so might not attract people with an interest in our history to Y Plas. Thus more important than previous that patriots make every effort to gather there as much as they do around Cofeb Cilmeri http://coffadcilmeri.blogspot.com/ and particularly on and around 'Dydd y Senedd' - 21 June, to mark anniversary of setting up of Senedd Glyndwr on that date in 1404. NB: For further information on other 'Dydd y Senedd' (also known as 'Dydd y Coroni') events and activities take a look into CENEDL GLYNDWR blog

An Explanation - Why an Oak Leaf?
.

.
Two reasons, in main because in year 2000, actually on 16 Medi I visited Llys Glyndyfrdwy, Corwen. As a souvenir I plucked an Oak leaf from the Oak Tree on the mount, framed it as above and placed it on my desk for inspiration. Since I have been a regular visitor to Llys Glyndyfrdwy and when there collect acorns, plant them and hope for the best, it's hit and miss but I often as not get lucky and pretty soon I have an Oak sapling or two. All grown on a window sill up to a point, then I hand them out as gifts to people who can plant them where they will grow as a Glyndwr Oak should, sturdy and strong as our Sovereignty should be. So, Plaid Glyndwr but an idea, as our dream of restoring the independence he had won but sadly was lost. However, Ideas are like small acorns and may grow as a Oak Saplings into Oak Tree of strong ideals, thence sturdy beliefs and strong patriotic principles towards - A Plaid Glyndwr? or at least a successful Save Our Sovereignty Campaign? Oh yes! the second reason for the Oak Leaf as symbol/badge of a Plaid Glyndwr, that idea of combining it with the images of the four lions rampant came from Euskudi. Basque Nationalists use an Oak Leaf in similar fashion in combination with their flag, it's quite striking and motivated me towards my PG/wnsp design. However, pretty as such might be, it all counts for little unless the politics behind it become a reality, but first lets crawl towards S.O.S Campaign and then maybe, we will one day run towards embracing a Plaid Glyndwr - Welsh National Sovereignty Party.
