PLAID GLYNDWR Mission Statement Plus.

.
This is an exercise in extra creative political thinking, in the main my purpose is of course to promote knowledge of certain historical foundations upon which a truly Welsh Nationalist Political Party would firmly establish itself upon. At same time I am of course then reminding of what should be the central issue, that being 'The Matter of National Sovereignty', and it is from these basic patriotic beliefs I consider to be central in any struggle for Welsh Independence. I am not proposing the setting up of a Plaid Glyndwr, but more suggesting that sooner as later I foresee a time when patriots will have need to establish a new, or rather a Welsh Nationalist Party as clearly PLAID as forsaken this role and function. However, first and foremost it is the promotion of a SAVE OUR SOVEREIGNTY CAMPAIGN which I find more the priority as basis for the eventual establishment of a Pro - Independence Referendum Campaign in mind. As for a Plaid Glyndwr??? Well! think Sandinista - National Liberation Front, although a Plaid Glyndwr seems possibly implying politics that might not be so socialist as that of 'Sandinistas' but no doubt you get my point! If you want to name a Political Party to make an up front and in your face Political Point, then I guess a PLAID GLYNDWR would do that? However, for a Welsh Republican viewpoint visit The Welsh Patriot Blog http://welshpatriot.blogspot.com/ and for Welsh Socialist Libertarian viewpoints visit Red Remembrancer Blog http://redremembrancer.blogspot.com Alternatively to enter into the parallel world of an alternative Welsh history where anything goes, including a Glyndwr - National Liberation Front, then visit The Assyrian Rod Blog http://assyrianrod.blogspot.com/

.
Following on the Plaid Pact with labour, a consequence of the 2007 Assembly Election I drafted an item for Owain Glyndwr Communicates blog, calling for Welsh Nationalists to embark on a campaign to 'Save Our Sovereignty'. I even proposed the setting up of a Plaid Glyndwr - Welsh National Sovereignty Party, unfortunately Nationalists were not up for such a big step as establishing a New Welsh Nationalist Party and this suggestion was not taken too seriously. However, given the further betrayal of our National Sovereignty by Plaid Cymru, in so far as ending boycott of sending of Welsh People to the English House of Lords, much needs to be considered. We cannot fail nor falter at this crucial cross roads in our nations history but once more I suggest in my heart, a call for the establishment of a Plaid Glyndwr - Welsh National Sovereignty Party or rather as aforementioned an S.O.S. Campaign. Keeping in mind that the convolutions of the Plaid Pact back room dealings at the Assembly is back firing in Gwynedd, where many nationalists are convinced that to sustain the deal with the Labour Party the closing of 29 schools is possibly a price to be paid to the piper? Whatever, the reality is, that a number of PC councillors and members in Gwynedd have quit Plaid Cymru to establish a Llais y Bobl to fight elections similar to such in Gwent established by disaffected members of the Labour Party. Further, surely by now many PLAID members must really see through the ''Hug em close and suffocate them slowly'' strategy of the Labour Party in Wales is actuality a reality.
.
.
Are there really true Welsh Nationalists members of PLAID who seriously think that Labour is being 'Ultra Truistic', really believe it? If you do, please wake up, smell the coffee, see the writing on the wall - YOU ARE BEING FOOLED AND MEANWHILE OUR COUNTRY DAY BY DAY IS SOLD DOWN THE THAMES AND WILL EVENTUALLY DROWN IN WESTMINSTER'S DARK AND MUDDY WATERS - Unless you think and reconsider the foolishness of your ways. Please, Please, Please take note - YOU ARE GAMBLING WITH THE FUTURE OF OUR COUNTRY BY HANGING ON TO THE HOPELESSNESS OF BELIEVING THAT THE UNIONIST POLITICIANS WILL PLAY FAIR! Are you seriously pinning your hopes on a referendum, when in 2011? how suitable 100th anniversary of 1911? What are the options, for one - a radical ''on the street'' S.O.S. Campaign as basis for growing Struggle for Welsh Independence. Plus Plaid Glyndwr - W.N.S.P. participating in Welsh Elections but boycotting Brit General Elections and certainly not participating in the Patronage and Privellege of the ENGLISH HOUSE OF LORDS.
.
.
An interesting and fluid political situation is taking shape in Wales, and it is not at all an impossible occurence to see in time a New Welsh Nationalist Party arise out of such spreading dissatisfaction with and within PLAID (Plaid Cymru). Whether or not such a party evolves as a Plaid Glyndwr - WNSP is another matter, as far as I am concerned this is my emotive contribution to debate on the subject of National Sovereignty Campaign which I hope will at least keep the issue of a Struggle for Welsh Independence alive and to the fore of political discussion and debate in Wales. This in mind please note the following:

ADVANCE ANNOUNCEMENT

Parliament Day 2008

The ANNUAL GREAT NATIONAL DEBATE.

More Devolution, A Parliament or Independence?

.
21 Mehefin 2008 'Dydd y Senedd', Around Cofeb Glyndwr,Y Plas, Machynlleth as from 12 Noon. In tradition of Medieval Welsh ''Mountain Assemblies'' (aka ''Athenian Democracy'' ap Sion aka ''Speakers Corner'' Hyde Park, London.) in practise of an autonomous ''Soap Box Nation'', simply meet and freely discuss and debate. This is how the Basques gathered around their Oak Tree of Gurnika to hold their traditional parliaments.
The big question Discuss & Debate Questions are the usual top topics regards Devolution or Independence - Which way forward for Welsh Nationalists to engage in struggle of Achos Glyndwr towards Restoration of Cenedl Cymru Rydd and re-establishment of Senedd Glyndwr - Cenedl Cymru Rydd? At very least I would hope this would lead to a great Save Our Sovereignty gathering in Corwen on and about 'Dydd Glyndwr' 16 Medi 2008, Where hopefully and about time Patriots would think about launching a major Pro - Welsh Independence Struggle with in mind the much vaunted possible referendum on more powers for that Assembly. You know what I think about that, what about you? Whatever, campaign priority is to have Independence placed on the voting papers ok!.
.
.
Plaid Glyndŵr – Welsh National Sovereignty Party stands for National Independence and Freedom of Welsh Communities, Personal Liberties for all our People, Defence of our Commerce, Culture, and Customs. Here is a possible Mission Statement.
.
.
Wanted true and loyal Pobl Glyndŵr willing to radically commit them selves to Prince Owain’s cause of re-establishing Cenedl GlyndŵrCenedl Cymru Rydd. By this, we mean working towards; founding, advancing and upholding of Glyndŵr’s Nation. A nation that sustains itself in the spirit of those that declared willingness, on 16 September 1400, to sacrifice everything for our homeland’s freedom and peoples liberties. It was at Llys Glyndŵr, on his estate of Glyndyfrdwy on that historic Day, Prince Owain and others - the Founding Fathers of Cenedl Glyndŵr- Cenedl Cymru Rydd did proclaim Owain Glyndŵr Tywysog Cymru and made the call for a struggle for Welsh independence. Thus was to begin a revolt that would, within a year, become a National Insurrection that was to be the Last Great War of Welsh Independence 1400 – 22. However, the decision to take Wales and the Welsh people along this road of struggle towards attempted freedom was not taken on impulse by a few dreamers. Neither were personal grievances against the English crown their motivation alone. For over 100 years, the Welsh people had desired the return of their freedom and liberties only the combined brutal tyranny of the conqueror, plague and pestilence had held and kept them in chains. A day would come - and so it did - and when it did, it was a long and hard struggle that would forever leave its mark upon Wales and in the hearts and minds of the Welsh people ingraining into their psyche, a desire for freedom that would endure down through the centuries. HHHhhhmmm!!! If only that was true? Instead they became WASPs, and if you want to know how that became so, visit http://cofcenedl.blogspot.com/
.
.
Thus the struggle continued, that the decision taken on 16 Medi 1400 'Dydd Glyndwr', was a national decision is testified to by historical facts - such as the May 1401 'Cyfamod Assembly of Hyddgen' to which Prince Owain had called the Nobles of Wales. These Nobles swore their allegiance to Prince Owain and then joined with him in solemn covenant to swear oath to make struggle against that English Nation, that had for centuries sought and eventually won the conquest of Wales by armed might and treachery. On 21 Mehefin 1404 at Machynlleth, Prince Owain had called a National Parliament and there, he was crowned Prince of Wales. The laws in this Parliament gave to Cenedl Glyndŵr’ – Cenedl Cymru Rydd the Independent Sovereign status that its people had fought for, and had won. However, eventually once more, the onslaught of English oppression and tyranny bore down on and broke the Welsh people yet again. Thus, in time, we were again to see lost that precious freedom and liberty so hard and courageously fought for. Lost - but not forgotten. The Welsh people have in time re-continued to struggle for the return of their freedom and liberties in the establishment of an Independent Sovereign ‘Welsh Parliament’.
.
.
Yes, the struggle continues, though it is now be by more peaceable means - and it will be won by those means – which includes a hard struggle of ‘educating to be free’ by means of informing and reminding of the ideals and aspirations of Prince Owain. Only when this is achieved will we start true popular struggle to recover our Independence, Freedom and Liberties, this time to be kept. This is what the object, aims and work of Plaid Glyndŵr are to be about and what we mean by committing oneself to seeking the restoration and upholding of Cenedl GlyndŵrCenedl Cymru Rydd. Plaid Glyndŵr is committed to politically work towards above ends purposes – this is our mission, will you join us? Not in the back rooms of the Sham Senedd, not in an English Parliament nor in an English House of Lords. But rather in the hearts and minds of our people in a struggle at the door step and on the street and in the Town centres with leaflets and protest posters. In discussion with the people and in debate with all who oppose, this is the way that Nations and Peoples win their Independence and Freedom. Do not be fooled that the Welsh can do it any other way than this or other wise those ''back room'' deals will come back to haunt you as you watch the dream become a nightmare...YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
.
.
Plaid Glyndwr - Welsh National Sovereignty Party, stands for the restoration of Senedd Glyndŵr 1404 and abolishment of the “poseur parliament’’ as represented by the 'Sham Senedd', so called National Assembly of Wales. Below are some arguements, first drafted 2006 but not used, used here for first time in main to focus nationalist attention on certain Patriotic Principles and Priorities. If ever a Plaid Glyndwr or New Welsh Nationalist Party was founded such of course would be adapted to suit elections, be they for local Government or that Assembly? boycotting other Elections to the English and European Parliament.
.
.
The Tripartite Indenture agreed to at Aberdaron on 28 February 1405 which if had succeeded may have led to the creation and establishment of an Independent Wales with it’s historic boundaries restored (Arthur’s ancient Kingdom of ‘Ynys Prydein’ and not note: the ‘Insula Britanniae of Geoffry of Monmouth’s Historia Regnum Brtanniae). Further, England itself would have been divided into two Kingdoms, possible becoming two federal States, Northern and Southern. Given the ‘Historic Divisions’ between this English North and South the Tripartite Treaty was indeed ahead of it’s time. Although in referendum the English North voted to remain united to the South, we are not so sure that if given opportunity Wales would fail to grasp the opportunity of its Independence as envisaged by the Tripartite Indenture of 1405. In the recent ‘British General Election’ a number of Political Parties set fourth to represent themselves to the people of Wales; the three Unionist Parties, plus the fringe left were represented per usual by a Socialist Alliance and ‘Ymlaen Cymru’ also standing was Plaid Cymru – the “Party of Wales” which some times represents itself as a “Nationalist” & “Independence Party” but hardly presented it self as such during the election.
.
.
It is the failing of Plaid Cymru to truly present itself as a true Nationalist party, that Plaid Cymru came unstuck and did so badly in recent election. Unfortunately there was no Nationalist Party truly presenting clear cut policy of making the demand for independence central to its campaigns. This lack of clarity not only confuses the general public but also undermines the resolve of it’s own members, now clearly seen in a post election “Factionalism & Implosion” within Plaid Cymru in which various factions of left & right contest each other to advance their “Popular Coalition Front” policies, all of whom have one thing in common they all seek to shelve the question of Independence and possibly too, will seek to moderate the last vestiges of nationalism of the “Party of Wales” to make their version of the party more acceptable to their proposed coalition partners. We consider this a most dangerous manoeuvre that will fail to advance the Welsh Nation towards Independence but rather continue to make of Wales a well managed post Devolution neo – colony of England, Europe and Capitalist Globalism.
.
.
We suggest that Plaid Cymru now must adopt more nationalist position on platform that clearly determines that the struggle for independence is central and to the fore of party purpose. This may only be achieved by Plaid Cymru declaring itself to be, not simply the rather meaningless sub – title of the “party of Wales” but better be the “Party of Welsh National Sovereignty”. Such as that we propose. This represents a truer Nationalist philosophy with policies that revolve out of an independence platform is best represented by us as in form of a Plaid Glyndŵr that I suggest e established as a platform if not a Party. Such a Nationalist Platform/Party must clearly with out reservation be a Nationalist “Sovereignty Platform/Party'' modelled on the successful Baltic Nationalist Parties, particularly of Lithuania. Plaid Glyndŵr, would not surrender Welsh Sovereignty to any other parliament, English or European. P.G. – W.N. S.P would seek to see the so called National Assembly of Wales abolished and in it’s place at Machynlleth, Senedd Glyndŵr be restored and as well the ancient laws of Hywel Dda restored for only with our own native laws would our nations “Sovereignty” be greatly guaranteed. To such ends to make reality of Cenedl GlyndŵrCenedl Cymru Rydd, P.G. – W.N. S.P would pursue the aspirations of Prince Owain and his advisors as are found in the proclamations and declarations made by Prince Owain and his Assemblies and Parliaments during the years 1400 – 1406.
.
.
They are as follows:
.
* Proclamation of Glyndyfrdwy 16 Medi 1400.
.
* The Cyfamod Assembly and declaration at Hyddgen, May 1401.
.
* Alliance with Mortimer representing Marcher Wallia 1402.
.
* Independent Treaties with English border communities 1403.
.
* The Machynlleth Parliament of 21 Mehefin 1404.
.
* The Dolgellau conference and Franco - Welsh Alliance of 1404.
.
* 1405 the realisation of the Franco - Welsh alliance in 1405.
.
* Tri - Partite treaty of 1405.· The Pennal letters of 1406.
.
.
Towards furthering of these ends P.G – W.N. S.P would boycott British Elections and contest in main community council elections as basis for it’s “popular patriotic” authority and annually hold, over midsummer weekend prior to 21 Mehefin, an annual National Convention of Cenedl Glyndŵr of its community councillors as a Provisional Senedd Glyndŵr. Such a true Welsh Nationalist Party as P.G. – W.N. S.P would further contest and take seats in the so called “National Assembly” with purpose of using such as a 'Propaganda Platform' in pursuance of its own objective and aims.
